It’s getting harder out here in California every year.

Not only is the new governor warning about a $16 billion budget deficit and advocating even higher taxes, it seems our state is considered the worst state in which to have a business.

Chief Executive Magazine conducted a survey earlier this year and asked 650 CEOs across the nation to rank the states on business issues.

California placed dead last. The highest ranking state was Texas, followed by Florida and North Carolina.

Texas, by the way, has held the coveted number 1 spot for the last 8 years.

The problem with California? High taxes, stringent regulations, and the general perception that the state is hostile to business.

You can read the survey here.
